10 Step Carpet Cleaning Process

10 Step Carpet Cleaning Process

Step 1: Pre-inspection

At the very start, we walk through the property with you to visually inspect all areas requiring cleaning. This allows us to identify any potential permanent stains as well as any worn traffic lanes, loose fittings and damage to seams, etc. We can then evaluate the expected results that can be achieved upon cleaning, as well as listening to any concerns you may have.

Step 2: Pre-Vacuum

Once the pre-inspection is complete, we can then remove any dry soil thoroughly by pre-vacuuming. Removing dry soil before cleaning greatly improves the overall cleaning. Vacuuming also presents a further opportunity to inspect the carpet and identify any further concerns.

Step 3: Furniture Moving

We take care when moving sofas, chairs, tables and many smaller items. Moving beds, dressers and heavier pieces requires extra consideration. We would always recommend the removal of items on bookcases, inside cabinets prior to our visit to help speed the process up. This allows for pieces of furniture to be moved more easily by our technicians. Once the carpet has been cleaned, we place all items on foil pad protectors. Extremely large items such as pianos, grandfather clocks, televisions and computers are not moved but are protected from potential overspray.

Step 4: Pre-spray

A preconditioning agent is applied. This solution will break down greases and oils which will result in a more thorough cleaning job.

Step 5: Pre-spotting

Difficult spots area are then pre-treated with special solutions to further increase the chance of removal.

Step 6: Pre-grooming

We use a professional carpet groomer to work in and agitate the pre-spray to further loosen the soiling.

Step 7: Soil Extraction and Rinse

Next we rinse the carpet thoroughly using a powerful extraction cleaning system. This system uses high heat and pressure to remove the soils without over wetting the carpet.

Step 8: Post Spotting

Any spots that still remain will be worked on with specialty cleaning solutions.

Step 9: Protector

If required, we then apply a carpet protector and groom with a professional groomer to work the finish in and set the nap for quicker drying.

Step 10: Post Cleaning Inspection

Walk through the property for a final inspection.
